The records include letters sent by the Superintendent to private individuals; commercial suppliers and firms; banks; other superintendents; Office of Indian Affairs officials and warehouses; Agency employees; state and local officials; parents of students; tribal leaders; and Indians living at the Fort Totten Agency. The letters provide information on school operations, finance, building, procurement, contracts, transportation, personnel management, supervision of students, and community relations.
